I love this very simple explanation of how twitter works. Especially when it’s described as “updates in-between blog posts and emails” (and phone calls of course).

This goal is just unbelieveable.

Ok so I didn’t even know this was up on the web anywhere but a friend of mine told me about it.

You’ll catch me at 2:57. And why does my voice sound funny to me? lol.

This site looked too much like a CMS i knew when I visited it. So I tried the login URLs of CMSs I know.

http://www.johnlegend.com/user/login showed the site was built on Drupal. I hate Drupal. I think it’s very powerful but it takes too much effort and too many steps to manage the CMS and make customizations. Also I think the versioning system is very bad. WordPress is the ish esp now that I’ve mastered it so much).

This makes me feel a lot better about using open source CMSs. It’s not how much your software costs, but what you make of it. I’m working on a very big website right now built with WordPress. It wont even look like it when I’m done.

Barack Obama will be on SNL tomorrow night. This should be funny. He is set to be on the show with a look-alike of Sarah Palin. Hmm….i’m not sure how much of a good idea that is….but it should be fun to watch.

Check out my new CNN Political Ticker Facebook Application. Here’s an example of how the application displays articles with comments.

First of all this new browser has brought an almost iphone-like level of hype, with every status message and tweet talking about it. I wasnt so moved and just wanted to use it first before I start making any noise. So now that I’ve used it for a few days…it actually does use much less memory than Firefox which I’m currently using. When I have 5 tabs open to the same pages in both browsers, Firefox still uses 4x more memory. Chrome hasn’t crashed on me yet (I’d be mad if it did) but we all know the so-called stable Firefox also crashes. Now don’t get me wrong every browser will crash if you try to keep 50 tabs open, especially if any of the pages has any crazy script running on it, but it seems Chrome might be hope for tab horders. Some pple (like me) just dont wanna close those tabs till later when they can get back to them…lol.

I don’t know happy Mozilla will be about chrome though, as they’ve had a long lasting partnership with Google, even though their CEO says it wont hurt their friendship. Maybe we will be seeing a merger in the near future…or NOT. The Google machine only merges/collabos when they have the lesser product or no product at all.

What I cant wait for is most of the Mozilla plugins to start releasing Chrome versions. Also I need to take a look at the API and see what I can do on it.

Ok so I first saw this video on Kanye’s blog over a week ago and thought it was cool, but it wasn’t until I heard the song a couple more times on the radio/tv that I completely fell in love with the song. I think this is one of the most genius songs this decade. It’s actually a song with meaning. I’ve had time to listen to the lyrics and get a better feel of the song and what it’s talking about. It’s basically about some leader who rose to high power and then falls to nothing after a dishones and wicked rule.

I searched the internet and found all sorts of ridiculous interpretations of the song. It’s funny how far fetched people’s opinions can be. Most of them we’re close to it and pin-pointed leaders like George Bush, Napoleon etc, but one very DUMM poster says here that the song is talking about Jesus Christ blah blah about how he was a king on earth and something about the temple and a decline from wealth and fame to a nobody. I mean how stupid could people be? When was Jesus ever wealthy?

Someone even inked the lyrics to King Henry VIII and King Louis XVI. Oh jeez…we need to put a leash on some people’s history perspectives.

The album cover almost gives the meaning of the song away as it depicts French battle/revolution.

Here is the answer to everyone’s dum interpretations (found here):

Bassist Guy Berryman explained to Q magazine July 2008 about this song that features lyrics about cavalries, missionaries and kings: “It’s a story about a king who’s lost his kingdom, and all the album’s artwork is based on the idea of revolutionaries and guerrillas. There’s this slightly anti-authoritarian viewpoint that’s crept into some of the lyrics and it’s some of the payoff between being surrounded by governments on one side, but also we’re human beings with emotions and we’re all going to die and the stupidity of what we have to put up with every day. Hence the album title.”

Drummer Will Champion told Q magazine February 2008 that many of the tracks on the album share a theme of “trying to remember what’s important in your life, rather than being carried away by the trappings of other things.”

So with that heard, even though I think this song mostly fits Napoleon’s story, I feel the aim was to leave it open to fit any world leader who misuses power, one of which we currently have in the US, some who might have existed in Europe, or anywhere else, and also to remind everyone listening to not get caught up with authority, fame & power.
