Ok so I’ve been logged into Facebook for quite a while so I’m not sure how new this is, but the new Facebook layout has finally taken over the home page, which still stayed with the old layout well after the launch of the new layout.

The new homepage has a more international feel to it. This makes sense since Facebook usage still continues to grow at enormous rates outside the US.

If you use Digg you might think its impossible to get a front page entry if you’re not tightly connected with a network of fellow diggers. WRONG. There is still some element of “whats important” to what makes it on the home page. Take for example, any major article (from CNN.com or any other major news website) is very likely to get dugg, either by someone on the web team of that website or just one of the few to first view the article.

What happens when you try to add an article to Digg that has already been added? You get redirected to the original submission. Sooo…if you want every other person who might try to add an article to Digg to automatically “digg” your submission, be the first to add it. This way every subsequent digg will add to your count and you never know, you might just get lucky enough to be the first person to digg an article on the verdict of OJ Simpson’s trial or a Breaking news story, which will also rank high on Google.

It seems the top internet giants have similar color preference. Or is there some sort of psychology behind using all primary colors (plus green of course) in a logo? Hmm. Just a thought.
